Programed to Party!

Happy Saturday!
I'm back to share on of my last Birthday creations of the month!
This stamp is actually a treat wrapper.
I love it!!!
I'm always making treats for my co-workers (yes I like to spoil them!!) so you will be seeing this stamp used in a
yummy project soon.  :)

For today I decided to convert the treat wrapper into a Robot card.
Some sewing stitched on a clear acetate sheet along with some fun pattern papers. Sequences and a little shopping in hubby's work room (I will hear about that later :D ) for lots of nuts and bolts.  I added a few gears and other metal findings for added interest.
Its a different design for sure, almost like a pocket letter / shaker greeting card lol!!
Thanks for peeking!

Twirling By!

I can't believe it's almost the end of February already! Spring will be here before we know it!

I hope you have enjoyed all of the Birthday cards we have been sharing with you this month.

I have one last Birthday themed card to share with you this week. Meet "Dancing Ellie". How fun is Ellie in her tutu!

I stepped out of my colour comfort zone with this one - I don't usually do many purple/mauve cards but I am happy with how it turned out.

After colouring Ellie with alcohol markers, I cut her out using a classic oval die. A matching cardstock stitched oval die was cut to mount her on. The sentiment was done on my computer, printed out and cut with a fishtail banner die. Some matching twine and gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Dancing Ellie (R065- High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Computer, Calibri Font
Patterned Paper:  Watercolour Wash - MFT, Forever in Time
Tuxedo Black ink - MementoCopic XpressIt cardstock, Stitched Oval die - YNS, Fishtail Banner die - YNS, American Craft Twine, Classic Oval die - Spellbinders, Lavender gumdrops - YNS

Robot Birthday

 Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans!

Wow! I can't believe it's Thursday again already and my turn to share another make with you.

This week I am sharing a Birthday card with a little bit more of a masculine feel. I have five nephews so I have had to take a deep breath and learn to like making masculine cards lol.

"Robot With Balloon" and the "Open Happy Birthday" sentiment (links below) were a perfect match for this Birthday card. I'm not sure which one of my nephews will receive it but at least I have one of their cards done! <smile>

The finished card size is a little smaller then I usually make (4"x4") but it will still hold money or a gift card which are always on the wishlist of my nephews.
My robot friend was coloured with alcohol markers and fussy cut with manicure scissors. Some glossy accents were added to the balloon for a bit of shine. Blue cardstock to match my paper was run through an embossing folder to add some texture. The sentiment was stamped, coloured with matching alcohol markers and fussy cut. Some orange twine and gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Robot With Balloon (R149- High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Open Happy Birthday (G039) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Party Dragon

Happy Thursday High Hopes Fans! The week is flying by - tomorrow is Fri-YAY!

We are having a month long party at High Hopes and the DT is playing along with a Birthday theme.

My post for today features an older High Hopes stamp and sentiment called "Party Dragon" and "Dot Happy Birthday To You!". How cute is this guy jumping out of the box with confetti and balloons!

Party Dragon is coloured with alcohol markers and then fussy cut leaving a thin white edge. He is mounted on card stock and fussy cut again leaving a thin red border. A white metallic pen was perfect for adding some fun polka dots to his bright blue box and Stickles were added to the confetti dots for a bit of sparkle.

Matching red with white polka dot ribbon was added to patterned paper from Photo Play to complete my layout.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Party Dragon (Q134- High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Dot Happy Birthday To You! (F065) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Happy Birthday Cuppy Cake!

 Happy February High Hopes Fans!

This month is all about Birthday's! What a great way to beat the February blues - we can party all month long! <smile>

I have a few friends who's spouses call them "Cupcake" as their pet name so when I saw this stamp I knew I had to make it into a Birthday card for one of them.

Meet "Cherry Chip Chimp" with his extra large cupcake!

I coloured my image using alcohol markers and cut it out with a stitch marks and pierce marks die - this die set is part of a Christmas present to myself I have been waiting to use! A combination of patterned paper from Echo Park and Carta Bella were perfect for my layout using the new sketch for this month's challenge.
I used some white acrylic paint for the icing to add some texture - icing isn't always smooth at least not when I do it  - and some glitter to add a little sparkle.
The sentiments are stamped and one is fussy cut the other is cut out using a fishtail banner die. It is fun to be able to use part of a sentiment to complete your message. A couple white gumdrops finish off my card.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Cherry Chip Chimp (S189) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiments: Fancy Script Happy Birthday (HH019)Cuppy-Cake (F222) - High Hopes Rubber Stamps
